I am new to using a slow cooker, fancy trying to do some lamb, probably a joint, any hints please. Would I need to put any liquid in?

I all ways do my joint in slow cooker I add about half a cup of water or stock and if eating mid day leave to cook on low all night. Beautiful
would this method work with a whole leg of lamb ?
Yes...as long as your slow cooker is big enough. ;-)
Marinate/rub the lamb with garlic, chilli, rosemary and olive oil. Put the garlic in slits cut in the meat. Yum:-)
Yes as long as your slow cooker is large enough to take the joint it isfine

Thanks to all especially hammerman that face book site is fab.
If your doing a leg of lamb put a cup of mint gravy and a chopped onion in slow cooker then cook on low for 8 hours
Two weeks ago I found a frozen leg of NZ lamb in my freezer dated June 2014. I defrosted and cut off the top 3 inches and it all then fitted in the slow cooker.
Delicious - and to all those date watchers, I'm still here, healthy, aged 81.
I think that mint destroys the taste of lamb. No proof, but I suspect its use goes back to the days of mutton, which can smell quite high - or meat that has gone off but is safe to eat if fully cooked.
I prefer a thick, creamy onion sauce instead.
