I am interested to know who uses their grill frequently and what you use it for?

Is it toast, meat or simply for browning a dish off?

I have a Foreman Grill - almost idiot-proof. I set fire to pots and pans too, I have a very short attention span and have been known to wander off whilst cooking.

Mostly for toast, rarebit .pappadoms, bacon, sausage, tomatoes. Fish.
It's hell married to a nurse when you take statins for cholestrol limitation. :-(
Quite often grill as have an ancient oven with an eye-level grill. Smoke alarm always reminds me when the food is done.
Wolf -the foreman grill is good -its not a UK 'grill' though is it? Grilling as in putting food under a heat source seems to me the best way to dry it out.
Retro - no, it is a contact grill. It is fast to heat up and cook but only has two temperatures - 'off' and 'on'.
I would love one of those barbecue grills in the kitchen, with its own air extractor and the rest.....steaks and chops on that - and a host of other things like Portebello mushrooms or sweetcorn....yum.
Warming plates when the oven is off. I can set fire to the grill with the best quality sausages, no problem, should clean it out more. The fire alarm is so sensitive I only have to switch it on and the alarm goes off.
Retro

This is the one that I got - I hope the link works as I have a cat lying on my arm.

wolf -yes they look good - got one on my 'wish list'
When you cook with those red-hot things in the oven isn't that broiling?
I use ours for browning stuff (well, I mean melting the mountain of cheese that mine like on loads of food that they eat) and for cheese on toast. I cook
bacon, sausages, etc in the oven.
stuey -yes like I said about half an hour ago lol! Broiling just sounds wrong and is wrong lol! hey stuey have you ever deep fried a turkey or is that just red neck Alberta cookin'?
Retro, I work in 'Pro' kitchens , VERY few chefs would fry anything other than chips!. Don't let them hear you say that a grill drys food out! Always oven or grill. The kitchen I work in most often cooks 15Kg of bacon and 10Kg of sausages every morning just for breakfast! All done on trays in the oven. Hot and fast is the way to grill , it only dries food if you cook it too long with too little heat. You can't grill poor quality meat it will never be tender enough to eat.
they are tasty, retro, even if cholesterol loaded - those ceramic egg birds are stunning too, so joooocy.
Yep, just checked my oven and it says "Broil" and then In French "Griller". No deep fried turkey for me, Retro; however at the CNE they're going to have deep fried Oreos on a stick...Amongst other weird things.
Eddie I sure certain foods would not dry up under a grill but I prefer the taste of stuff fried in butter or a bit of olive oil -I'm not talking swimming in an inch of lard. Funny though -having watched many many programmes on cooking and watched 'celebrity' chefs on TV not one as far as I know has ever grilled (as in UK grilling) anything -they usually brown meat in a pan then sometimes finish in the oven.
DTC -that looks fab -never heard of one before
stuey -lovely ;-( Something even more sickly than corn dogs
