We have a Home Bargains shop due to open in our town shortly. Has anyone got an experience of these shops and can you recommend anything in particular that you buy there? Are they good bargains?
Yep....microwave bags rice 50p
Jars of jalapenos a quid and rice thins (the wife finds other stuff) but once I have bought my 10 jars of jalapenos I'm bored and wander off.
One of my favourite discount shops. We have one in Grantham and I go in with the intention of "just having a look" and always spend well over £20, you will find some real bargains I guarantee it!
Oh no don't go there for Nescafe at £3.99 a jar that's too dear get it from Savers at £2.89 same size jar 200gm. Home Bargains good for a few things but not loads
They are good for toiletries and cleaning items. I wouldn't buy comestibles, though, as their provenance is unknown. Most food or drink items seem to be destined for the foreign market but have fallen off the back of a lorry. Like the coffee with the Greek label, B&M sell tins of Heinz beans but the label is all in Polish.
also good for choccie biccies and cleaning products...scented candles..sense n spray refils only 1.99 instead of 3.99 in ASDA....things like cough sweets , medicines, painkillers...etc...a limited grocery supply but dirt cheap nevertheless...oh and pet supplies !
"pet supplies" ?you mean they supply pets? So, could I go in and buy an iguana? Surely that's illegal? Ooops sorry,, may have got the wrong end of the stick...
Similar to Savers which is closer for me. I use it a lot, toiletries, cleaning supplies, porridge pots, flavoured water, medical supplies and all sorts. Some branded food goods on very good offers too and you can save more than in the Pound Shops on a lot of items as they aren't restricted to charging a pound for things.
We have one, I find it very good for some things. I bought some screen wipes there, they are brilliant and clean my glasses too. It is the only place I can get the Quench lemon tea OH drinks. They have some lovely biscuits too.
