Christmas Wines Of The Week
7 Answers
There are a lot of overpriced 'special wines for the festive season' being touted around - I've seen some quite dreadful Barolo (from a crap vintage and a mediocre producer) being flogged for well over £20 and some horrible Chateauneuf du Pape at north of £25 - all designed to appeal to the occasional drinker who wants somethging 'a bit special' to go with the turkey.
Ignore the special offers and get your tonsils around one (or more) of these little gems :
A youthful and fruity CdR from Aldi - I don't know how they do it for £3.89, and to be honest I don't care. I had my share of a bottle last night with Bacon Butties for tea and it was gorgeous.
Would go well on Boxing Day with your cold collation :

With your Christmas Dinner - big and full of tannins and ripe fruit - not going to be overpowered by a rich, tasty meal - my favourite wine of 2015 :

As an aperitif, with your cheesy wotsits and nibbly nuts - a big, fat white CdR - great value for a very classy wine :

With a dinner of leftovers - bubble and squeak would do nicely please - a cheap, but very cheerful, Malbec :

Compliments of the season to you all and BOTTOMS UP
