I would make it with a meat sauce. Ragu on bottom, lasagne sheets, ricotta cheese( mix ricotta with an egg, some chopped parsley and parmesan),sauce,pasta,etc...for a total of three layers of each. You can finish with some mozzarella on top. This is a southern Italian lasagne. Substitute bechamal sauce for ricotta for a traditional lasagne.
But there are endless variations...these will confuse you more...;-)
I put meat, pasta, meat, (meat, pasta - if it's a large one) then cheese sauce, (which we prefer to bechamel) on the top. If I'm feeling really lazy, I use bought lasagne mix and/or white sauce mix with cheese added, sprinkle with grated cheese and then bake until browned and bubbling.
Thank you all for your suggestions. I cheated a little, but it came out great.
I made my bolognese sauce from scratch (always awesome!) and laid that down first. Then a single layer of lasagne sheets (wish I had doubled up on those now), a thin layer of white cheese sauce (bought) with mushrooms and grated cheddar. Repeated that and then added lots of thinly sliced chorizo on top. It tasted really good!
Next time I'll try your suggestions, maybe even a boiled egg! Thanks again.
