i put meat at bottom followed by pasta sheets followed by sauce times 3.

shouldnt i have put meat then sauce then pasta sheets x 3.


maybe wont make a big difference, we,ll see in an hour ;-)

It should be fine...though I would have put meat between the layers also. But,there are countless ways to make lasagne. All are correct. :-)

thanks. but i just watched a couple youtube vids and they both ( gordon and jamie ) put meat first then sauce then pasta sheets ;-)
My wife (Italian) always layereon top.d the lasagne:- Meat ,sauce, pasta sheet X3 then grated Parmesan sprinkled on top.

i should have asked, i have just taken mine out of oven after 45 mins on 180.
it looks watery , should i let it cool and settle . i put it in without the cheese topping ,will add cheese now and put it in a further 15 mins on same heat.

Don't know what went wrong there. To repeat:- meat, sauce, sheet x 3 plus grated Parmesan sprinkled on top,
Always let it rest...or even better...have it the next day.
I'm Italian American...and we often don't do a white sauce. It's a meat sauce plus cheese between the layers.

i made mine with lamb mince, on hindsight i should have used beef mince as i think it might have tasted better.
