I want to cook this recipe tomorrow
http://www.simplybeefandlamb.co.uk/recipes/lancashire-hotpot
I have done it before and like it.
However this time I won't be in the house for the 1.5 hours plus 50 minutes before I want to serve it. So I am looking for opinions on whether it would work if I cook it all today and then just put it in the oven tomorrow for the final 50 minutes?

And it shouldn't have any impact on the flavour mamya? Or could the potatoes become tough?
I don't think they will no.
I reckon if anything it will enhance the flavour and the potatoes might get softer not tougher.
I`d probably cook the meat mix today and then tomorrow, par boil the potatoes, slice, put on the top and put the whole thing back into the oven for the meat to reheat and the potatoes to finish.
Sounds like the kind of dish that improves with reheating..
