Out walking with Maxie last night around 10ish and looked at some lovely take-aways.
Was impressed with the rotisserie thingmajig - guy was thinly shaving meat off - looked pretty good but does it taste good. Also are they fattening. Any opinions I would relish LOL
Depends what type of meat it is. If it's made out of chunks of lamb then fine but the other stuff, which is usually served in takeaways, is rank, disgusting.
I confess I've never had one, nor am I likely to. Just the look of that elephants leg of meat slowly turning, maybe sitting there all day, with the fat running down it...
i saw a programme on how they made them once - the good quality ones are just lamb pieces layered up and then cooked, the fat drips off as it cooks so its not as unhealthy as you might think - its all the sauces and dressings/sides that people have that make it fattening.
the standard chip shop ones are just gloop ona stick and best avoided
if youve never tried one how can you comment ..food poisoning on a stick thats your opinion ummmm nothing wrong with a kebab imo especially a shish kebab
Indeed Ummmm, yuk.
Fluffy, it's still sitting there all day on that pole thing though, being kept warm, isn't it? A breeding ground for bugs I'd have thought. Just couldn't fancy one.
I seen something similar, Fluff, the quality stuff looks ok.
I will only use one kebab shop here. Shish kebab made with chunks of lamb leg steak, chopped and griddled in front of you with griddled peppers, onions and mushrooms and then loaded with salad.
I wouldn't touch the elephant leg with a very long stick.
Years ago I went for a kebab on a night out with friends. I ordered a chicken shish kebab and was surprised to see them assemble it straight away, I assumed I had just got my timing right and it was fresh off the coals. After stuffing the pitta with salad and chicken and adding the various sauces, it was wrapped up and slung in the microwave.
I very rarely have them but yes, they are delicious. Have to tell them not to add the rabbit food though. Chilli sauce is worth adding. Coincidently I was only thinking a day ago that I'd like to have one again. But I was up 0.2 lbs again today :-(
