Used to buy pre made but now will only make from scratch. I admit to only ever buying jars of tartare sauce but since discovering I didn't have any in the fridge one day and then also discovering I had all the ingredients in to make it I now only ever make it myself, plus I can make the exact amount. Only a little thing but think it tastes nicer. How about you?

Mayonnaise. Been making it for about 3 years...ever since I discovered a foolproof,speedy version done with a stick blender. Much better than ready made.

Soup for me too. I also make my own coleslaw.

I cannot make mayonnaise to save my life.
Tartare sauce and mayonnaise (along with coleslaw) are the devil's vomit and should be banned!

I like to make my own chilli con carne (or variations on it) but I'll still buy a ready-made one occasionally.
I wish I could do that. I have lost count of the number of times I have bought jars of Tartare, Mint, Apple and Horseradish sauces, use them once and then have to bin them a few weeks later.
I agree with Chico on two out of three, but I do like tartare sauce with fish.
Pasta sauce and curry paste. Over priced and vile imitiations of the from scratch versions.

Having said that I do have a jar of Paul Newmans Sockarooni sauce in the cupboard usually just in case Mr Cake has to cook ;-)

if I had the space here, I would also make my own pasta.

hmm, i cant think of anything that way round, but there are loads of things i used to make from scratch and now don't!

I love home made chips. Have tried all the ready made ones from the supermarkets but nothing comes close so I always go back to making my own.

That's the recipe I use Buenchico lol. And yes I always make my own chilli too.
I've never tried to make pasta actually
Tartare, apple, mint, horseradish, marie rose as well as soups, egg fried rice.
