any Scots look away now please ;)

I love topping my porridge with a thick natural yogurt, but I have just discovered I'm not supposed to eat any "live" food while I'm having chemo, so anyone got any ideas for an alternative?
Thanks

Creme fraiche?
Throw some blueberries in 3 minutes before lifting out of pan, top with a bit of golden syrup.
natural yoghurt just means unflovoured doesn't it? There are plenty of non-live varieties i think
Question Author
bednobs, sadly no. The Fage natural yogurt I've had for ages "contains active live yogurt cultures"

Why don`t you just stick a dollop of cream in it? If you are going through a less than pleasant treatment then a little of what you fancy will do you good
Question Author
237, sadly fresh cream is something I can't keep in house, ditto biscuits and cake. I've no self-control ;)

I`m pretty sure that mascarpone is made with lemon juice rather than live cultures and you can get light mascarpone in supermarkets
are you saying that no natural yoghurt is pasrtuerised/ if so what about quark? I had no idea all natural yoghurt was live
I googled it and it said all yogurts were live. I didn't know that.
Question Author
Have bought Fresh Soured Cream, with 50% less fat, than what isn't clear,...could be deep fried pizza in batter.
Couldn't see any marscapone, and daren't ask cos not sure how to pronounce it ;)

Just gotta nip out for a bit to go and show friend my syrup.
