Why do gravy granules taste of metal to me but other people say it's fine ?

I agree it may well be a northern thing but those darn south have Mayo with chips... that must be cockneys trying to be French.

to my utter horror (close your ears Minty) I discovered I like salad cream with chips, but it does depend on what is accompanying the chips.

Salad cream, mayo or red sauce with Chips
Red sauce with bacon or sausages
Brown sauce is only good for the dustbin!

I can't believe that salad cream still exists and that people like it. Personally I don't like brown sauce but can understand why others do. But salad cream - yuk (along with gravy granules and their ilk)!
