It's definitely turned cold here and the fire is lit!
So I have a pot of Red pepper, red lentil and chickpea soup on the stove which I will serve with some chopped belly pork thrown in to it and thick oat cakes (homemade of course) on the side.
How do you lot cheer yourselves up when its cold.

3 of us love homemade lentil, nice and thick, Mr Alba likes his soup which absorbs any bread and doesn't float on top of the soup.

One of my faves is the 'one-pot wonder' stew, with the veg, potatoes and dumplings.

The evenings have been rather chilly and have felt guilty putting the heating on.
Yesterday I made a pot of red pea soup with some beef ribs in it. Very hearty and filling.

I refuse to put heating on until 1st October. A spicey parsnip soup will do to warm me.

North Ladybirder 30 mins out of Belfast, had the hounds out this morning they are now sleeping peacefully in front of the fire.

Ah thanks, didn't realise that's where you were. A bit further north than Hove then. Yep, every dog I've known, and that's been a good few, just have to get in front of the fire the minute they realise it's burning.

Sunny here in London. It's not cold but colder indoors than out, if that makes sense? I refuse to put the heating on yet, so have a couple of fluffy throws on back of sofa. If chilly in eve I'll just grab one of those. Plus a pint of vodka....... (I was joking about the vodka - just half a pint! ; )

That's exactly what it's like today. I walked the dog and it was quite a nice temperature. Came back indoors and looked for a cardi.

To labs and a large cat fight to get closest to our fire, the other 3 cats sit just outside the room and get the spare heat
