Weighing Scales
Is it just me, or is anybody else put out by the lack of weighing scales in the fruit and vegetable areas of some supermarkets.
Sure, stuff is weighed at the checkout, but just for customers to be able to weigh goods themselves, to know weight, and to make price comparisons based on weight.
Would it be so difficult to keep a scales in operation for the customer also.
Today, I asked my supermarket about it, but alas, the manager said he didn't know why there was none for the customer.

I used to work on a garden nursery in the school holidays in the late 1950s, which involved standing a market stall. Everybody asked for apples/potatoes etc by the pound. The only exception was oranges, which people asked for by number.
