Have just read through all 49 replies to a question about favourite films. My question is - how many people actually read through all the replies to these posts and how many are just happy to get there tuppence worth in?

Speaking solely for myself, I read all the replies and as I'm not a big film watcher (evidenced by my choices) looked a few up to see what they were about.
With this particular thread.......I just want to get my twopenneth in and just glance through perhaps one or two.

If I get to a thread with only a page or two of (shortish) replies then I'll read through - but if my post is going to be #142 then I may only have a skim through (or not).

I do like the 'films' threads though - they often remind me of stuff I'd like to see (or see again), like Gromit did with the Grand Budapest Hotel this time.

Thanks for your honesty folks - most of you echo what I do. I am interested in films so did read all the posts and have written down a couple of "must sees" that I might have missed.
If a thread interests me, I'll read all the posts.
In this case, I've read the films one and some mentioned are also on my 'I'd like to see' list.

I scanned through the posts to see if I was the only one to consider movies that were neither British nor from Hollywood. (I was). I also looked to see if others had mentioned my 'runner up' choices, of 'Some Like It Hot' (yes) or the Ealing Comedies (no).

Similar to your thoughts though, Maggie, I often wonder how many people actually listen to any of the multitude of tracks posted nightly on Mamya's music threads.
depends on what person starts a thread up ...to be honest

Depends on the subject.
Long news threads - no
And long posts in news threads ,definitely no
I'm not sure that it depends on the poster, more the subject - re films, I know I've missed a lot over the years due to various issues preventing me attending cinema and I'm a fidget so won't sit alone and watch a full feature. However I do find plots interesting.

On my thread I don't see it as a showcase but rather somewhere for folk to air some of their favourites to round off the day - that's why criticising choices is frowned on.
"You love my threads volty"
some spath some :-)

Threads to do with Motor Racing - yes
Although such threads are few and far between
I read though all the replies see if anyone else had chosen the same film (they hadn't).
