Oh god, this brings back childhood memories and one I don't want to remember.
Well there is this one

When I 'was a lad' it was there's the raw tripe, raw onion, salt and vinegar, get on with 'yer tea.
I'm with Sharon. Vile stuff. My mother used to make it but I wouldn't eat it. As soon as meat came off the ration she stopped buying it.
My mum cooked it in milk in a double saucepan for ages. I loved it.
I have vague recollection of my Mum cooking it in milk for my Dad when we killed a cow. Nobody else in our family would have eaten it.
My mother used to smother it in parsley sauce and pretend it was cod. Even at the tender age of 4 I wasn't fooled. The smell of it alone was enough to make me retch.
Oh dear...I have enough trouble with the frozen stuff I get for the dog. Glad I didn't grow up with it.
^But you grew up in NY/New Jersey. Another world
Very true, 237. My ex mum in law said I was spoiled...
I remember my Dad eating `end o lean bacon` or `fat bacon`Nowadays it would be called Belly Pork. The cheapest cut from the pig
Oh I don't know 237 , we used to have pigs trotters :(
I loved it. We had it every Saturday cooked in milk with mashed potatoes and onions. Delicious. I preferred the brown tripe which we called 'reed'. I think that was before it was bleached. Unfortunately I never learned how to cook it and have never had it since about 1960.
My Mum used to put the trotters into Hoggs Pudding.
We yanks ate pickled pigs feet...well, my southern dad did.
I loved Schweinshaxe. I didn't like it boiled but it was lovely roasted. Preferably eaten in a Berlin beer keller
My mum used to give us tripe and onions and I loved it. Can’t quite remember how she did it though.
I love trotters. Lovely and sticky.
