Tea for me please, depends on the surroundings and how parched I was regarding how much to pay.
If I'm at an airport say, and the prices are skyrocket, I'm prepared to pay the rip off £3.25 per cup of Americano as I'd still want a coffee. But a reasonable price is £1 per cup.
McDonald's actually do a nice coffee. So do Weatherspoons and they charge 99p with free refills.

I'm not keen on coffee shops so begrudge paying Starbucks type of prices.
Crikey they charge £3 in our local park.
About the same in our local park.

However, assuming this to be a genuine question, 'when and where' comes into it for me. At the burger van I sometimes frequent, I'm happy to pay 80p for an instant coffee (even though the proprietor does offer 'real' coffee, from those little plastic pods, for a bit more money). Elsewhere I might be happy to pay perhaps a pound or £1.20 (or even up to £1.50) for an instant coffee.

In smarter environments, where only 'proper' coffee is served, I tend to drink cappuccino (much to the annoyance of my friend who lives in Italy, who insists that cappuccino shouldn't be drunk after breakfast time). I expect to pay 'a bit over £2' (such as £2.30) and don't mind too much when the price gets nearer to £3 (such as £2.80) but I try to avoid establishments where the price exceeds £3.
Nothing. I never drink coffee. Can't remember when i last had one. Horrible stuff! Yeuk!
Filter coffee with a dash of milk. No more than £1.50
Wetherspoon's prices vary across the country (and can differ between pubs in the same town) but the coffee is good.
Hey, Clarion, there can't be many of us - I only had part of a cup at around the age of 16 and after the second sip left the rest. But do you drink tea ? I don't, similar but perhaps not quite so strong an aversion. The interesting thing is that I have three sons, two of whom never drink either and the third only quite rarely. Maybe genetic ? Mind you, I also dislike beer - two of the three drink it, one of them (I believe) very much through peer pressure (here, have one, be a man). The other is in fact an alcoholic, he was brought up at his grandparents' home, his grandfather was a drinker and wife beater.
If I get a coffee on the go, it's only ever from Waitrose, so the answer is zero.
I prefer kenco 3 in 1s good flavour and nose - about 20p a sachet - I`d rather wait till I had some hot water and drink what I like.
Interesting, KARL. I like my tea but never drink beer. In fact I very rarely drink alcohol. To try a different taste in tea, drink it without milk, but with as little, or as much sugar, as you prefer. I prefer it sweet, without milk. But coffee? Nah! Not for me thanks.
I don't drink coffee and hate the smell of strong coffee, it smells like a dirty ashtray to me.
Just a general point.......English coffee is rubbish compared with Spanish coffee.
I never drink instant coffee.
I am quite happy to pay £3.25 for a cup of coffee in a place that i know well and provides an added "shot."
i pay 3.40 in local hotel, but that is for a very large coffee, i don't partake elsewhere.
I detest those cups that are really big bowls with teeny tiny handles. They are usually very thick, too.
I will not drink out of cardboard or polystyrene. Proper cups only, thank you.
hc, me neither i hate plastic, polystyrene cups with a passion.
I usually get an Americano from the coffee shop at work for £1.45. I take my own plastic cup every morning and get a 25p discount.
What's an americano? I genuinely have no idea what these fancy pants coffees are. I'm from a black or white; instant or filter generation.
