We had Greek salad which made a very nice change, I’d forgotten just how much I like feta cheese. And some fancy bread.
Today we’re having peppers, onions and tomatoes with eggs cracked into it, something we always enjoy.
Tomorrow could be anything, I’d appreciate some inspiration.
Yesterday I had venison burger with salad. Today is chicken casserole with mash and greens and tomorrow a home made curry, sag paneer, rice, naan, poppadoms and some chutneys.
Sharon, thanks, you ve just reminded me we have some pittas in the freezer, and some falafel, that’s lunch sorted.
Evening meal Bednobs..tea, dinner, supper, whatever.
Thanks...you have given me tonights dinner...well not given me but reminded me that there is a slab of feta in the fridge and olives etc....thank you very much...running out of ideas!!
Bednobs, you make some interesting sounding meals, do you have a fancy cook book or do you get the ingredients delivered from one of those companies which send the recipe and the ingredients?
I have some simply cook boxes. They don't send all the ingredients but they send the spices and sauces for the recipes. It certainly takes me out of my comfort zone re cooking. We probably do about 1 a week
ive been doing it about 4 months. I love jambalays, but my supply of jambalaya mix dried up last year and ive never been able to find one like it. I saw a simply cook box in the co-op and tried it, then I went on the site to order some more and saw everything they do.
It works out to £2.50 per meal kit as you get 4. In a way it's a very expensive way of doing it because you only get enough for two meal out of the spicesin each box but you get stuff it's hard to find in the shops. Use my link for a free box (and for me) https://simplycook.com/invite/A73TKY
Interesting bednobs.
I followed your link, chose the free box items but then as well as email address and home address it asked me for my card details even though I wasn’t buying anything, just wanting the free box.
So I didn’t take it any further.
I've got some trout fillets defrosting...I usually dip them in seasoned polenta...it makes the skin nice and crispy. Not sure what I'm having with it. There's an avocado that needs using...1 of 4 I got, and 2 were rank. Or sweet potatoes. Or broccoli/ cauli rice. I've also got 2 large aubergines to use. They don't really go with trout. I may stuff one with black rice and spices tomorrow night.
We’ve just done next tuesdays click and collect shop online and have ordered a couple of ripe and ready avocados, pasta, I love them.
Think we’ll have them next week in a chicken and avocado salad, with tomatoes, grapes, cucumber and any other bits and bobs I can find hanging around.
I’ve also ordered some ready to eat prawns so that’s a prawn cocktail type meal too, I do like a prawn cocktail.
We got two ready made potato dauphinois today mamya in our click and collect. Mustn’t forget they’re there in the freezer, might have one next week with the coronation chicken flatties from an M&S meal deal, and some veg of some description.
Enjoy your scampi, I love the stuff, other half not so much, feels there’s too much breadcrumb surround and not enough scampi.
