I can't be doing with sandwich makers so please don't suggest I buy one. I love a cheese toastie that has lots and lots of cheese but sometimes it has not melted enough.
Could this be solved by a quick blast in the microwave and if so, before or after putting in the frying pan?
Omg I want a toastie now. When I was a student nurse most of our classes were an asylum that had a lovely old refectory for staff and patients (and students). Anyway. Practically The only thing they sold was toastie. By the end of my training I had tried all sorts. My favourite remains tuna coleslaw cheese and beans :)
Just wanted to say thanks again for all your help, I can confirm that after several experiments the best outcome is by far - putting a lid on the frying pan. So simple, so effective
