Hi ab'ers, I'm sitting here munching pickled gherkins, absolutely love them, however up until 5 years ago hated them! Have you a similar food you once hated but now love, or even the other way round?
Up until joining the army, I simply refused to try mushrooms. I thought they looked disgusting. However, I was persuaded to try a mushroom omelette and instantly realised what I had been missing out on.
Exactly Dagman no taste and slimy. I have got to like olives but really onlly the black ones. I still find the green ones a bit bitter but still try and get used to them.
Can't think of anything I've had a turn around on. What was unpleasant when young, still is. I have managed to tolerate some things though. The obvious example is that although raw onion isn't great, having it with a very strong cheddar in sandwiches made it tolerable. Well tolerablish, up to a point.
My grandad used to give us chunks of Fry's Chocolate Cream bars -he loved them but I hated them as I found the chocolate far too bitter. Yep -now I love them, especially with a cup of tea.
As I child I love bananas with tinned custard -now I can't even bare the smell.
