"What ever way you prefer"
that's what the question is asking mally!
Diagonal, no exceptions.
Four triangles to impress. Triangle to fit pre shaped lunch boxes. Otherwise depends on what's inside
and as a pedantic point vagus, cutting them diagonally is also halfing them :)
ooops I see APC already pointed that out on the toast thread :)
Mine = diagonal
Mrs JtH (who is a less affected soul) = right across the middle.
Although it does help differentiate between the two plates and stop complaints about 'unexpected mustarderage' when biting into a ham sandwich....

I’ve never had an embarrassing sandwich but would quite like to try one :)
I like pedants. Or is that pheasants. Or maybe peasants.
And mustarderage, what a great expressive word! And so explanatory!!
If I have to have a sandwich, it must be cut diagonally so the pointy bits fit neatly in my mouth and yes, it does have less crust when cut like that ;o)
However, I prefer a bagel.
oh, finger sandwiches, with the crusts removed and sold to the poor.
Question Author
Good idea jno, or soak them in hot milk and feed the baby.
Clearly it doesn't matter. It's the same foodstuff.
Halved
Like my toast...down the middle from top to bottom
Question Author
Bit radical Ginge, top to bottom eh?
Much like the toast, I'm really not too fussed.
A good lover always moves from top to bottom...
//with the crusts removed and sold to the poor.//

SOLD to the poor jno? Your generosity has no beginning. :-D
Diagonal is a sandwich, across the middle is a piece.
