Usually make an extra effort for our Saturday evening meal but due to a number of reasons I really can’t be bothered, so we’re having spicy bean burgers in oven bottom muffins, spicy wedges, and a tin of sweet corn.
And a slice of chocolate cake other half made this afternoon.. I washed up and did the buttercream filling, and the icing for the top.
I’d really like a ribeye steak or a Chinese takeaway :/
Ooh Martin, I love gravadlax or any of those cured fishy things, particularly the ones in a sauce. I’d never think of making it though, did you make it yourself?
Flat Iron Steak, garlic mushrooms, sauté potatoes, home-made coleslaw. Something out of the freezer for dessert if we want any -mini magnums or lime sorbet with a shot of vodka over the top.
Simples....the perfect meal..........
Salmon marinated overnight in soya sauce, ginger, a hint of garlic, Asian spices and coriander and then fried in butter.
Caviar, with Mrs sqad,s special Avocado salad with grated cheese and a glass of Protos. Mrs sqad sitting opposite after showering and hair nicely but simply coiffeured ,subtle perfume and a tight white sweater......
Simple but perfect dinner.
I should have made some coleslaw too, I have the wherewithal but honestly it’s been as much as I can do to drag myself around today.
I think it’s mental as much as physical, these dreary dark wet days, bloody COVID, missing the family.
Oh well, onwards and upwards.
Enjoy your meals, they all sound lovely :)
Pizzas here, but I'm jealous of Prudie's meal! We cooked Kobe wagyu beef (we even say the authenticated certificate) when on a cookery course in Kyoto; absolutely beautiful. Cut into strip and cook for 30 secs a side is how we were shown to do it.
Doesn't come easier. A delicious takeaway lasagne from our favourite village pub.
A newly showered Dave glowing pink across the table. Lockdown hair flowing around his face and the scent of his Connemara after shave competing with the peaty smell of the turf fire.
A bottle of Aluado will compliment the Turkish Delight I've hidden away for Christmas...if I can find them.
