I tried stevia and found it horrible.
I use canderel.
It depends very much on your own preference and you may have to try a few.
Bigger pack and much cheaper at Tesco

I've tried them all and don't like any of them. It took me three days to get used to porridge without sugar or sweeteners - I have it every morning.
I used to put a lot of sugar on everything
I find Canderel has a metalic aftertaste.

APG, when I googled it, Stevia was the first thing that came up and as Vagus has said, some find it doesn't taste nice.

Do you use it yourself?

I've never used AS's before, and the only thing I need it for is my porridge, so it has to taste like normal sugar, if that's possible.

Barry, I've tried eating it without sugar and I've also tried it with banana's or berries, but the only way I like it is with sugar.
I was determined to lose some weight and have managed to lose just over a stone, but I'm stuck now, so have to look at other ways that might help me lose some more.
Question Author
Just clicked on Stevia links at H&B and Tesco and both are out of stock.
Some people get a strong answer aftertaste with stevia, you won't know unless you try. How about gradually reducing your sugar, maybe switching to a half and half sugar, sweetener mix, then weaning that down until you can stop.
Aniseed aftertaste!

Barry, how about this? it's on special at the moment as well.
If possible, i would like to get it from Tesco as that is where I shop.

Try it, Barsel - you might like it
Question Author
Barry, I only shop at Tesco.
By the way, do you make your porridge with milk or water?
For a different taste have you ever tried sprinkling anything else on your porridge, e.g ginger. It's really lovely once you get used to it and has many health benefits
Question Author
I will have to do what Vagus and Rowan have suggested and try different ones until I find one I like.
We do all have different taste in things I suppose.
I'll start with the ones that are on special at Tesco.
