I know there have been problems recently, but this trumps it all.

M&S boss is forced to step in to row back on controversial teacake ban https://mol.im/a/11550413 via https://dailym.ai/android

Teacakes are not a breakfast item.

I hope the link works, because this is important.
Oooh, toasted teacake with lashings of butter is an "anytime" treat
I had the same problem over toast in M S. I wanted tea and toast, my friend wanted avocado on toast. I was told that they couldn't serve me toast as it was not on the till now as it was lunchtime. I said but my friend is having toast. Yhey wouldn't give me it. I said this was ridiculous. I complained online. I was led to believe they were going to change it. I ve never asked for it again so I don't know if they did.
i dont like them, but they are not a breakfast item
Local Garden Centre serves toasted ones for breakfast - delish!
Perfect for elevenses, so ironic that they stopped serving them at eleven!
the second link takes me to a football match being played in the Middle East. The first seems to be more teacake-related.

In theory people should be free to eat what they like when they like, but I don't know that restaurants must serve everything 24/7.
We had visitors from the UK. Calling in at our hotel for coffee and cake one friend asked for a toasted teacake. Sorry, we don't have those. A while later the waiter came back and said as he'd never heard of a toasted tea cake, would our friend describe it. It's really hard to describe a toasted tea cake. :-)
I love a toasted tea cake.
I don’t honk they’re a breakfast item but in my opinion should be available, in those places that sell them, until 11.30. And in the afternoon after the lunch time rush is over.
Fruity and toasted? Don't be daft, THIS is a teacake.

What would I know....I've eaten curry and pizza for breakfast....! (Not at the same time obvs)
This is usually to do with them wanting the tables for people in the dinnertime slot, wanting people to spend more, i.e. on the dinners, rather than taking up a table on a small outlay like a teacake.
Most afternoons that I go into town, I end up with coffee and toasted teacake in my favourite cafe before catching a bus home.
I prefer teacakes to hot cross buns but prefer Tunnocks teacakes or snowballs to teacakes.
Try grilling Cheshire Cheese, (toasted) on top of a split currant tea cake with a side dip of HP Fruity Sauce. Very popular round here.

Don't be ridiculous
Or a bacon butty made with a teacake, it’s that sweet salty mix, very tasty.
Where the heck is 'round here', The Winner? I need to avoid the area. :))
Don't knock it until you've tried it.
A toasted teacake should be available all day long.
It isn't a breakfast, lunch or evening meal, it's a snack.
I love them, and toasted hot cross buns, but they both give me terrible indigestion. :-(
