I am looking at eating more healthy and was wondering if it’s ok to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch daily? Breakfast would most likely be a protein shake daily and lunch would be a salad with chicken. Dinner on the other hand would be what ever I felt like that day.
If it's well balance probably but you need to be careful that your third meal is also healthy. It's a choice for. you.
Interestingly it's something some people On the spectrum do, and some o c d sufferers. It's about safety rituals and fear of stepping outside a comfort zone.
It might be limiting as you won't be getting nutrition from a wide variety of sources. Maybe use different types of protein with your salads...tuna, sardines, cheese, egg etc. Instead of a protein shake, make egg muffins or a quiche/frittata at the beginning of the week and portion out.
Good points made already, if you limit/restrict breakfast and lunch too much you will be tempted to pig out at dinner time, so you won't lose any weight or get any health benefits. You need to think about every meal and make sure you enjoy every thing you eat otherwise it becomes a punishment and you won't stick at it
Are you choosing those meal options because you love them or because they are the healthiest?
If the first then fine but if not or if you do get fed up with the repetition then ring the changes: eg swap chicken for alternative protein. Or have soup or stew for lunch. Porridge with fruit is a healthy breakfast.
Eat same food everyday its ok for me but I want some more different food for my mood or health. If you eat the same thing every day, you're not challenging your gut microbiome.
