To have with our veggie burgers tonight I’m going to chop two large almost too soft tomatoes, an orange pepper, and a handful of black grapes, maybe a small shallot. Add some French dressing and away we go, no cucumber or lettuce near it (only because I don’t have any).

Salad ??? It could be very nice having left out the awful stuff. But you still should cook the pepper and shallot; the tomatoes would benefit from cooking too. Save the grapes for dessert, maybe with a good cheese.
Sounds good to me. You won't see any lettuce in a trad Greek salad, certainly cucumber and feta. Got any olives in a jar?
Olives?! Probably all gone in martinis or gin, if I know Vagus ;)

Cheeky!! ;)
I love olives but himself hates them, and I don’t have any in, but they would make a good addition.
It was very nice actually, and even better for using stuff up.
We love sweet and savoury mixtures so this sounds lovely. A favourite if ours is melon with feta cheese.

We do too, Turak, melon and feta sounds right up my street, very salty cheese and sweet melon, yum :)
It doesn't sound too bad actually. Perhaps some garlic croutons?
