We still don’t have a properly functioning kitchen so are still camped out in the utility room with the microwave. We’ve had beans on toast, scrambled eggs on toast, reheated homemade chilli and curry (not on the same plate, different days) this week.
Today we’re having prawns in seafood sauce on a bed of little gem lettuce, pea shoots, baby spinach leaves, chopped cucumber and cherry tomatoes, with some fancy bakery bread and I’m really looking forward to it.
What I’m not looking forward to is the big clear up once the kitchen is finished, there’s even plaster and brick dust upstairs!!
Anyhow, that’s me, what about you?

Hi Vagus :) Red brick dust will look like paprika on top of the seafood sauce! I am going to cook tagliatelle carbonara tonight, just a small portion. I think I have exhausted my range (and palate) for salads this week. I am waging war on wasted food so I want to use up some gammon, cream and mushrooms. Egg mayo sarnies for lunch :)

Hello choux :)
Your grub sounds very tasty, I’d have all of that, yum!
Roast chicken with a dish consisting of tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, white wine, herbs and spices. I don't really have a name for the dish (suggestions welcome) but I'll have a scoop of it in a dish with sliced chicken breast on top and some steamed broccoli.
We are having pizza. When the weather is nice our neighbours often host pizza night or a bbq in their field and a group of us get together and get a little bit merry.
Vagus, you would be very welcome, too :)
Not sure yet but probably a mushroom omelette and salad. Am working later....will have to watch France-All Blacks when I get back or tomorrow lunchtime.
I don’t know himself is taking me out for dinner for a pre celebration treat.
Won’t be cooking again till Sunday

Oh aye, Helen, sounds interesting, care to share what the celebration is? Could do with some nice news.
Guinness and Taytos during a prolonged session of music/rugby in the pub, then possibly a visit to the chipper.
Well apart from rugby World Cup and NFL pig skin weekend and waiting to hear about another promotion it’s also my birthday tomorrow I will be 31!
And a bit
How big a bit?
(gets bit of string out of kitchen drawer...)
Too hot to eat ....maybe liquid refreshment!
I don’t think you have a big enough kitchen drawer
Not decided yet, but likely to be chicken drumstick (roast) with steamed veg (broccoli, carrot, spud).
Thank goodness I wasn't holding anything breakable when I hit the floor then, Red. Carpet burns on knees now...
♥ ;)
