Botonist
Ivy
Miller and carter
Miller & Carter is just one of many Mitchells & Butlers' brands, which include Harvester, Toby Carvery, O'Neills, etc. They're all perfectly good enough plces to eat but none of them are ever going to be very special.
Botanist is better but very pricey for what it offers.
The Ivy trades on its name, with its original London restaurant still being seen as the place where celebs dine and where one needs to book months in advance. That reputation means that it can charge very high prices for what it actually offers.
If you've got a Cosy Club in your area, that's the one to go for, as they serve quality food at sensible prices and with first class service:

Alternatively, seek out one of the Lounge group, which is run by the same company as Cosy Club anyway:

I thought that you were hard up though? You need to accept that many (most?) people will probably dine out in those type of restaurants no more than once per month at the most (with many considering them to be a two-or-three times per year treat). Your many posts on eating out seem to suggest that you're expecting to visit them perhaps several times per week. If that's the case, it's hardly surprising that you've not got a lot of money!
This, my local restaurant, is better than any of those three, but unfortunately for you it requires rather a long taxi-ride;

The Ivy can now be found at around 40 locations, including in Cardiff:
