Without any hesitation mine was my mother's steamed suet pudding, dripping in Golden Syrup with a bucket full of custard.

Every Thursday without fail in the winter

mr mally thinks i'm weird because i love semolina  with a dollop of jam x

Would that be home made Barry? My Mum used to make her own when we were little, Id forgotten how good they tasted until your post. Tinned ones dont come close

I'm not really a fan of sweet things, but I did like Angel Delight. Strawberry flavour.

My Mum's Jam Roly Poly pudding with thick custard and I always had a fight with my Dad for the skin. Rice Creamola was another favourite

Question Author

Home made, fourteen, tinned ones don't have the essential suet.  She made jam roly poly with suet, too - another steamed pudding.

I like semolina and sago, but I didn't like the skin on rice pudding.

Question Author

Angel Delight didn't come out until the mid 60s, I never liked it

She also made suet pastry - apple and blackberry pie was my favourite suet pastry fruit pie.  With a lot of custard, of course.  No freezer at that time so it was seasonal

Barry, that's exactly what I was going to say. And she used to make it one of those blue and white hooped basins. Is it called Devonware? Anyway, twas yummy!!

Do pancakes count? if so, it's probably a stack of them, yes sir.

I used to love winberry pie with custard (bilberry to some people). We used to pick the berries on the local fells, so very seasonal. The local fells are now 250 miles away, so a bit too far to walk.

Christmas Pudding. But we had it so rarely.

Apple crumble and thick custard.

yes - wimberry pie & custard

Question Author

Apple crumble was the first pudding I made all by myself, and same for my children,  so easy, so delicious

My wife is making one of my favourite puddings today.  Upside down pudding with a twist because our oldsters prefer peaches to pineapple.

Tinned peaches in the bottom of the dish, golden syrup, then sponge made with some of the peach juice and ground almonds on top.

Another favourite my mother paid also features golden syrup.

Hot treacle tart with custard. The golden syrup was so hot it was like molten lava, we had to sit and wait.

My nan's Apple pies!!! To die for. Rich flaky pastry, not too tart apple filling, delicious with either thick cream or hot custard. Every sunday.

Summer Pudding made with bread and fruit, also oven baked rice pudding.

08.00  Fourteen/  Easily made in slow cooker and tastes delicious.

My favourite pudding? Hollands steak and kidney.

Have never liked suet in sweet puddings.
