I have a surfeit of Swiss Chard growing in my vegetable patch which must be used up quickly to make room for this year's plantings? Any imaginative ideas as to what I can do with it please?

wendyS - see 63 ideas here: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?search=swiss+chard should keep you busy for a couple of days...
Makes good soup, esp. minestrone. (my mother-in-law is Italian and uses it all the time)

Many thanks nicmo - Your usual, helpful response when it comes to "foodie" questions. Will look forward to trying some of them out.
Hi wendyS - Glad to help - I would suggest you could also freeze the chard as a 'ready' ingredient, and heres a simple chart if you haven't anything similar with blanchingtimes for veg before freezing: http://www.ext.nodak.edu/extpubs/yf/foods/he187w.htm#Preparation so you can keep it going through the year - if you got bored...of it....
