'ello ... For my A-level Food Science i had to research into the diet of a diabetic. One thing i did find out through the diabetic association and Boots is that they withdrew their line of diabetic foods as it was discovered that there was little difference in sugar content between that and normal confectionary and that it raised the blood glucose levels as much as normal confectionary. However like a broken record they still say that u can eat normal confectionary as long as its monitored. I also Intereviewed the Chair of leading confectionary shop and when asked why they continue to sell a diabetic range even after what the Diabetic Association withdrew their own brand they replied that it was merely there to satisfy the consumer ... which is fair enough.
