if i made home-made trifles (individually)can they be frozen

At a loss as to why you'd want to, but yes you can - provided that you don't make them with jelly (as it sometimes goes a bit weird when defrosted). If you use booze in them, you need to cut down the quantity, as too much booze will prevent proper freezing, too much sugar will do the same. Oh, and your custard might separate on defrosting. Too much hassle!

well my neighbour was asking as she lives alone and to make a normal siaed 1 would be too much so i said make indevidual ones and freeze but i didnt know if you could .....and shes dibetic so she would of known what to use to make them ok for her but thanks for your answer
Hi sweetdor, Depends how you make your trifles. As Kim A. says, the gelatin in jelly would most likely break down as would custard. I must admit I never use jelly in a trifle just trifle sponge,spread with raspberry jam, cut in squares, sprinkle with sherry, add small tin of drained fruit cocktail/salad, stir and place in dish before covering with a rich custard and decorating with fresh whipped cream.
I would suggest your neighbour could prepare this sponge mixture, freeze this in individual dishes then defrost when wanted and finish with custard, cream etc. No question, my favourite sweet, tastes good for breakfast the next morning too!!
