Does anyone know of any wines that I might be able to purchase now at a reasonable price that would be good for keeping? I've always dreamt about having a decent wine collection but haven't got a clue about wine. Could anyone recomend anything? (reasonable price = less than 20 quid) I mostly drink red wine (can you keep white?) somehing fruity and not too heavy

Think this through. How long do you want to keep the wines? When people talk about keeping wines its understood to mean for years or decades. To do this you need proper storage conditions, dark, still constant cool temperature.

.

I suggest you contact/join The Wine Society. They have a scheme where you pay a regular sum and their experts buy wines to build up a cellar. www.thewinesociety.co.uk and you can keep your wine in their temperature controlled cellars.
