go to the chinkies and get loads of prawns and chicken in batter and a couple of cartons of dips.
stevie I was told off for using the word chinkie to describe a takeaway. Its offensive apparently???

u are pulling my plonker surely 4getmenot. madness.
honestly I'm not joking. I've always just used it as a shortened name for chinese, bit when I said it on here once I was called a racist.
When I went to a party once this woman had got wraps and spread cream cheese and chives on it rolled it up and sliced it. Mmmmm they were nice.

No plonker pulling in here please.....back to the question in hand????
Hi!
If you've got a Morrison's near you they do a range of party food in the freezer section, 2 for 3, should be enough in 2 boxes for about 10 people.
I would imagine other supermarkets do them too, just sling them in the oven, voila!

Hope your houswarming goes well, have a nice time :o)
Greek salad on a stick (olive, cucumber, feta & cherry tomato. red onion optional)

'Home-made' sausage rolls (buy puff pastry, streaky bacon and cocktail sausages. Wrap a sausage in a sliver of bacon and then cut out a rectangle of pastry and wrap around. Bake until golden brown.)

Home-made guacamole (2 ripe avocados, 1 chopped red onion, 1 medium/hot red chilli, 2 ripe seeded tomatoes, sea salt & black pepper. Bung in a blender for a few seconds so that the mixture is 'chopped' but not smooth. Remove and stir in finely chopped coriander and 1tbsp of lime juice. Serve with tortilla chips or bread sticks).
A lovely dessert which is really simple is brandy snaps filled with whipped cream. They're bluddy delicious and you can prepare them beforehand and keep in the fridge until you're ready to serve them.

Even better, you could prepare a Forrero Rocher chocolate pyramid! HAHAHAHA!
paulakea, all this food sounds delicious, can I come to you house warming, will bring a bottle or two?

I have spent a hundred quid on stuff for it this morning - PAYDAY!!!!
Lotsa booze!!!! :-) no need for more!!
You've got plenty of carbohydrates there, so how about providing a balance and having a nice dish of crudites - sticks of cucumber, celery, raw carrot, red pepper and lots of nice little cherry tomatoes. If you can get some really small courgettes, raw strips of them are also very nice. And don't forget the sweet pickled onions !
I think chicken drumsticks would be popular with most people, and they don't really need cutlery, although you could just get some throw away cutlery. Salady stuff, too...ermm, cheese&pineapple on sticks. You could do various things on sticks, like kebabs. And for pudding, fruit kebabs! lol
just buy plastic plates and cutlery if need be. No need to wash and cheap!
You can get big packs of cocktail sausages out of Asda's - they have a little peppery kick to them - gorgeous. Sausage rolls and sandwiches. You could have crackers and cheese - so many different kinds of cheese - bu Morrison'd do a lovely goat's cheese with cracked black pepper - my dad stole all mine - that good! One thing I learned from going to my family in France - they use those boxes of little nibble biscuits - cracker like - Lidl and Aldi sell them for about 60p for a huge box - the one's with pretzels and other stuff in it. They also put salted peanuts in a large bowl with raisins or currants - the sweet and saltiness together is lovely.

Have a great night
