I'm making a pasta dish with chicken and cream - should i use double, single or whipping cream (unwhipped obviously) or elmlea? Also what spices or flavourings would be nice in it?

I have only ever used single cream with pasta, I think the others might come out wierd. How about some fresh herbs, like basil?

and the single cream doesn't make it too thin?
I love Rosemary in a chicken dish.
Use single cream. Forget about the rest.
Hi Chazza. Trust me on this, I know what I'm talking about. First of all, if you want it to be stir in style sauce, then yes, use single. On the other hand, should you fancy a creamier result, I would use double or whipped. (They produce the same result) and this would be my preference. However, it is worth noting that I would use Elmlea as opposed to cream any day. (So much more flavour). Anyway, enjoy.

Hi

I used double in the end and it was lovely! Added some wine, chicken stock and chicken, leeks and mushrooms, then stirred in the pasta.

Fantastic!
