like rice cremloa i used to be able to buy panyan pickles but they seem to have vanished from the food shelves in the supermarkets, has anyone any ideas or even a recipe please
They were/are made by Crosse & Blackwell - you could ask the manager of the supermarket where you shop if they are still available and if he will stock them for you - they will usually do that for you.
From the Nestle's website:
Im looking for your PanYan Pickle/Sarsons vinegar/Peanut Butter/Branston Pickle/Honey/Rowntrees Tablet Jelly.

Whilst I enjoy Hienz products their pickle does not in any shape or for represent the taste of panyan. I have tried many of the brands on supermarket shelves but alas none have come up to my liking I am considering making my own, the neaest that I have come up with is Mango Chutney (Sarsons) as I believe that Panyan had Mango's as well as many other vegetables. Indeed for the moment I find it representitive of panyan with my bubble and squeek on Monday evenings! for my tea.
