The Sun at Charminster, the Royal Oak in Cerne Abbas, the New Inn also in Cerne.....check them out (along with dozens of others) at http://www.pubinnguide.com/pubs.asp.
The Sun Inn in Lower Burton - about half a mile outside Dorchester wins hands down. The Seven Stars in Wool is great as well although its quite a few miles out of Dorchester. If you fancy a trip to Weymouth - you can't beat the Turks head (the pub, not the restaurant which is separate and a lot more expensive)
Hi Maxie,

My favourite is The Clock in Chideok, although it might be a little too far.

Regards
The Fox at Ansty.
