Five Portions Of fruit and veg a day

As it is known now that 5 portions of fruit/veg a day is recommended. As i am not a huge fan of fruit myself, would glasses of pure fruit juice work the same? i.e if i had a glass of pure apple juice at breakfast, lunch, and dinner would that be classed as 3 portions out of the 5 recomended daily fruit/veg intake? cheers

The reason being that although you get some of the vitimins you don't get the fibre or roughage and the sugars are slightly faster to your system so less balancing. There must be some fruits and vegs that you like. I find that I don't have many cooked veg but will munch on raw veg which is better for you anyway!!
Purple Monstrosity Fruit Smoothie
Optional: Substitute the orange juice with juice or milk.
2 frozen bananas, skins removed and cut in chunks
80 g frozen blueberries
235 ml orange juice
15 ml honey (optional)
5 ml vanilla extract (optional)
Place bananas, blueberries and juice in a blender, puree. Use honey and/or vanilla to taste. Use more or less liquid depending on the thickness you want for your smoothie.
Bananaberry Smoothie
145 g fresh strawberries
1 banana, sliced
170 g fresh peaches
125 g apples
200 g vanilla ice cream or yogurt
355 ml ice cubes
120 ml milk
In a blender combine strawberries, banana, peaches, apples, and ice cream. Blend until smooth. Add ice, pour in milk and blend again until smooth. Serve immediately.
