Untreated milk is a potential health hazard for most people because, unlike pasteurised milk, it may contain pathogenic bacteria, such as E.coli, salmonella and campylobacter, which can cause food poisoning, especially in young children, pregnant women and the elderly. It's best to boil it before drinking it. Most untreated milk is also full fat which means it's high in animal fats.
