can anyone recommend a good blender for making sauces for cooking and crushing up ice?

I went on the which? website but I think you have to pay to use their service

You can a get a great blender outta woolies for a tenner.

If you are going to be 'doing' ice I would recommend that the jug on your new blender is made of glass for longievity purposes.
