Very annoyed
7 Answers
Doesn't it make you angry that you take time out to answer a question for someone, say, like the music in the Cow & Gate advert, then they don't say 'thanks'?
Then, an hour later, seeing an identical question, you discover that the person to whom you supplied the answer has replied to the new post with the answer and the comment that that they have 'cracked it'...
Honestly!

I discovered ages ago that the probability of getting any sort of acknowledgement for a post is inversely proportional to the effort put into that post.
For example, if I simply post a link to a website (which took me 10 seconds to Google), I'll get 3 stars and a message of thanks. If I give up a night's sleep, to spend ten hours researching a question, I can guarantee that the questioner won't bother to respond.
At least you (indirectly) received an acknowledgement that your post had been read. Just remember that plagiarism of your answers means that someone thinks they're worth copying ;-)

Yes that does seem a little cheeky Scotchollie and quite rude actually. A thank you would not have gone amiss if they hadn't bothered to do so but to then effectively poach your answer and claim it as their own is a tad cheeky.
Well I for one appreciated your help Buenchico and thanked you for your invaluable advice on a question I posted recently in law (which you may or may not remember) , in relation to an incident where my children and I were almost mowed down by a crazed driver. I gave you three stars and heaped praise upon you so I hope that you don't tar us all with the same brush. On the odd occasion, I do forget about a question which I have posted (largely because I flit in and out of here. Part time ABer ha ha) and as well as posting a belated reply on my thread , I do tend to seek out the source of the help to thank them so that they do not feel that their hard answer was in vain or fell upon deaf ears. Sadly , not everyone does the same and it leaves those who have taken the time and trouble to answer a thread wondering whether the author of the question has indeed even read the replies.

Their hard answer ? What was I thinking?!! Time for bed methinks. I think that that was a cross between their well thought answer and all the hard work which went into it. Oops.
Apologies for hijacking your thread Scotchollie but I just wanted to say to Buenchico that he is most welcome and although I did not see the question to which you refer , I hope that you feel a bit better knowing that for every Aber who does not bother to take the time to thank you , there are plenty more who do appreciate your help and at least you can be happy knowing that as Buenchico said , your answer was deemed worthy enough to be plagiarised.
