Peanuts?

is it an old wives tale that it's bad for you to eat peanuts at night? I was told you can choke to death cos you can't digest them ..

Almost every pub in the country sells peanuts, which customers often consume shortly before retiring for the night. Have you ever heard of anyone dying through eating them?

You can only 'choke to death' if your airway becomes blocked. Once the peanuts are in your stomach, the only way they could obstruct your airway would be if you vomitted in your sleep and failed to wake up. This might happen if you've seriously over-indulged in the pub's alcohol but not simply through eating their peanuts.
