Recipe for Beef Stifado

I need a really failsafe recipe for beef stifado or any other slow cook beef stew type meal. I have guests (4 plus us 2) coming for a meal this weekend and as I am not a very good or confident cook I think this may be the way to go. I also would appreciate advice re quantities and what to serve with it. Failing that, we'll have to go to the takeaway! Thanks.

Why not serve a lovely greek salad with it, although bef stifado is lovely on its own. Just type beef stifado into your search engine. There are a few variations on the recipe.
