Had some bbq chicken that was really nice at a party last week, they mixed natural yogurt with a red paste before cooking it, what could the red paste have been ?

It may have been chilli and paprika, paprika mainly for the colour.

If it mainly just coloured the meat I'd go with tandoori paste... but if it had a light but layered flavour I'd go with a thai paste...
