cooking corn on the cob

I have 2 corn on the cob I want to cook, how long do I have to cook them for in a pan of boiling water?? I have only ever cooked them in my steamer and the booklet that came with it told me how long to cook them in there for.....
also can someone answer my other post ( see below) because I still dont know what to cook and at this rate it will be beans on toast....

Put them in the boiling water, they may cool the water down when you first put them in, so bring it back up to the boil then time them for 10 minutes (if you like them with crisp texture), or just a little longer for a softer texture. I do them for 10 as we don't like soggy sweetcorn.

ah great.. thanks... thats very quick.. in the steamer it takes about 30 mins..I shall do them for 10...

I always stick mine in the microwave - give them a wash and don't dry them so they have a bit of water on them and stick them in a microwaveble bowl with the lid slightly open for about 6/7 mins for 2 cobs
i smother some foil in butter and mustard, dash of cayene, wrap the foil around em and bake for 40 minutes.

top notch sweetcorn
put them in the cooker grill
lovely crispy
