I have had two Xmas bashes here - 'tis a damn good venue, dining room on ground floor and then you go downstairs to the bar and disco area. Both times I've been the red has been fine but, I'm afraid to say, the white has been pretty lamentable - and by lamentable I mean undrinkable: this was the consensus I'm afraid, even the hardened drinkers were turning their noses up. 40 cab ride back to Tunbridge Wells hurt as well!

ah that's a damn shame - can't have a dry wedding! doens't look like i'll be booking the vineyard then!
I cannot understand why you don't go and buy a bottle of each of their wines and taste them yourself. Then if you find some you like more than the others you can tell the organisers which ones you want to serve. Asking other peoples opinions doesn't help you; what I like, you may hate.

we are doing this in 3 weeks (earliest chance we'll get), but just wanted to get an idea beforehand so we know whether we should keep looking at other venues. It's a difficult thing this wedding stuff :<)
I bought a bottle of white over the weekend.  I drunk half a bottle the other night.  Two days later (and a day off work) I'm still not quite right.  I would avoid the white like the plague.
