ladies first!

where the hell did this "ladies first" thing start?!?
in this modern day and age, this to me, is such a stupid thing to say. let me explain my reasoning...
firstly. its sexist. why not men first? i thought in the pc land of britian we were all supposed to equal (unless of course theres a christian woman and a muslim woman, wow, theres a social dilemia! who goes first!?)
second. what does it gain to the man? nothing! sod all! case study - night out. many a times women have pushed their way passed me in the take away que because they think it should be "ladies first" basically, ive been waiting ages, the ladies think because their all dressed up and looking sexy, us men should just let em through. why!? just because i do doesnt give me any benefit, no chance of suddenly becoming her girlfriend if i do nor not! im not bothered, i just dont understand the point of it! it makes me laugh out in town when all these guys crowd round the good looking girls doing anything for them, buying them drinks blah blah etc etc, why bother? i could do the same, but cattering to her every whim isnt gonna mean i get her number, or anything else!
thirdly - why NOT men first? what makes ladies so special? what? cuz they can make babies they should go first? they seem to forget it takes two to tango!, and by two i mean male and female!
finally. in my opinion, it seems to me this "ladies first" is something thats suprisingly lasted its way to the present from the 1940's or something. in those days, i should imagine letting ladies go first, might atleast mean a night at the picture house and maybe the oppotunity for a peck on the cheek, now, it dont mean jack sh*t! sure, i could spend all day been nice to all these good looking ladies, it doesnt mean anything. i get nothing from it. so whats my insentive to let "ladies" be first? in my own personal conclusion - none!

But then I still give up my seat on the bus to old/pregnant ladies, and those with small babies/toddlers.
I guess its the way you were (or weren't) brought up.
