I make my own pickled onions and shallots. Once ready to eat (about 6 weeks) they don't seem to last two minutes (ie get eaten quickly). Can I re-use thevinegar to make some more pickes? There is usually a good third of each jar left. I already use some for other things eg chips!

I've heard of people re-using the commercial pickling vinegar but don't know about the home made variety. More info here

Thanks Jugglering. Tried the website - good ideas
I always re-use mine to make more pickles, as soon as the jar is empty, and it works just fine, as you said the pickles are always eaten really quickly and so why waste the vinegar....................welsh
I normally use mine to clean the shower head! It does a brilliant job!
