not sure if im submitting this under correct category but hey! Ive been invited to a bbq by someone ive never met before (boyfriends work colleague). i understand people usually take a bottle or some food, is this ok with someone youve never met? and if so, any ideas as to what i should take?

I don't think you should turn up anywhere without a gift if you've been invited, but if the boyfriend takes something that's fine.

if you want to take something, try for something they might not have like prepared strawberries and a big tub of cream. well, that would work for me!

oh, bless! don't panic about it, it's supposed to be laid back kind of do. tell your man not to leave you for long periods without checking you're okay, and have a secret sign to say, "enough.. I want to go"!

bowl of homemade coleslaw or potato salad or a fresh fruit salad?
If you don't fancy taking something like that then a nice bottle of wine or 2 (1 red & 1 white)

A bottle of wine will always go down well. Also, flowers if the host is female. Food, I wouldn't bring. It might make them think you thought you wouldn't like what there is and brought your own....lol

When is your BBQ jb? Did you enjoy it? I always take dessert, but homemade - whip up a quick cheescake, always goes down well ..... and relax and enjoy. xx
