can you freeze cabbage?

I am emptying my veg drawer and have cooked and frozen lots of veg for when I'm at work.
I've got two cabbages though, and that is something I've never frozen.
Has anyone tried to freeze it, either raw or cooked?
(when I cook it, I always slice thinly and stirfry it).

Hi crisgal - You can buy cabbage from the freezer centres, so yes you can. How to do it from fresh? Shred finely, blanch & freeze in small quantities in freezer bags. www.allotment.org.uk Put freezing veg in search bar & scroll down to table of vegetables.

It will freeze better cut up and cooked.

better to pickle the cabbage (saurkraut) or thinly slice, 1 part oil to 3 part vinegar, seasoning.

You can pickle any sort of cabbage.

PS Sauerkraut is actually fermented cabbage and no vinegar or oil is normally used

u will have to blanch it, cos if you dont it will be a soggy mess!!!
