its really sad when you see trawlermen throwing back fish to appease european quotas, they even tried selling the excess but got maligned for it, i love fresh fish but cant afford it, wheres the justice!!!

I couldn't agree more. I'm afraid this is yet another of those daft European Directives which almost daily makes me doubt the wisdom of our being in the Common Market.. In an age of rising food prices, to throw perfectly good fish back into the sea when it has just died is absolute madness. The sooner we get a politician with the courage to run a Referendum on whether we should exit the Common Market, let alone have a Referendum on the constitutuion the better.
